Action cameras have become incredibly popular in the past few years. People want to capture amazing moments in their lives. Sometimes regular cameras just can not do the job. They are not portable enough or small enough to handle some of the things people want to capture. Not to mention cameras can get very expensive. The Polaroid Cube is a great and inexpensive action camera that allows you to capture all of the action.

Like the name says, the Polaroid Cube is a cube-shaped camera. Measuring at just 35mm on each side, it is a very compact little camera. The camera only has one physical button on the top of the camera. Hold it down to turn it on and off. You press the button once to take a photo. You press it twice to start recording video. You can change the resolution to 720 or 1080p by removing a small cap on the back of the camera. This is where you will find the micro SD slot and micro usb slot as well. The field of view of the cube is 124 degrees wide. This is slightly smaller to some other competitors but still decently wide. One of the unique features of the Cube is that it has a strong magnet on the bottom of it. This allows it to be mounted in some very unique places. However, this is the only mounting option it has. Polaroid does sell mounting accessories specifically for the cube on their website.

I think this is a great and inexpensive action camera. It has a lot of quality for the price. It is incredibly portable and rugged. It can definitely take a beating. The magnetic mount is a cool feature and allows you to mount it in unique places. One of the things I wish it had though was a timer. I would like the ability to stick it somewhere and set a timer for a photo. Or even a time lapse feature would be great. Then again this is meant to take videos. You get a 124 wide angle lens, 1080p HD video, and up to 90 minutes of continuous video. For only $99, that is a good package.
